Growing Carlisle
An Economic Strategy for the Carlisle City Region
This strategy is about how we shape Carlisle's future, how we decide what needs to be done to enable and encourage a successful local economy and how we enhance its role as a regional city. The strategy has been developed with involvement from the public, private and voluntary sectors represented in the Carlisle Partnership.
The first draft was amended following the public consultation period. Details on the changes made can be found in the Consultation Report produced by the Centre for Regional Economic Development.
Carlisle City Council and Cumbria County Council have both since agreed to adopt the Economic Strategy and agreed delivery model as part of their Policy Framework.
